Fond Memories I was thinking back to this really great Steak & Cheese joint on Campbell Avenue in Tucson, AZ and a very pleasant feeling came over me. I caught myself salivating. Smiling, I licked my chops and felt the sensation of "ahhhhh..." My next thought: Frankie with his warm, friendly, joy-filled face greeting me when I walk in. Frankie's is a real Philadelphia Cheese Steak place. Frank Santos is the owner and someone you just like. The place is special for a number of reasons. It has a real sub shop feel on one side and on the other an Early American Philadelphia Room. Frankie's is clean. There is a hand sanitizer right next to the counter for easy guest access. Napkin holders and assorted squeeze bottles are plentiful. From tastefully hung signage, Frank makes sure I know that his bread is from Philly and the best Grade A #1 Certified Beef the world has ever known is served at his place - It really is good!!!! Frankie's even has Canada Dry Ginger Ale and Wise potato chips. Home Sweet Home kinda stuff! The staff proudly wears clean, black, double breasted chef's coats adorned with Frankie's badge of quality. Those who work at Frankie's seem loyal and dedicated and the pride they take in producing a mighty fine product is evident in the final result,. While visiting, Daniel (one of the servers) stopped by my table to chat. He checked in with me regarding how I was and, in particular, how my sandwich was. I mentioned to him that I wished there was an even bigger size sub available and with exuberance he told me there was! Daniel also went on to share with me his approach to creating this fine masterpiece. You have to love someone who enjoys and takes pride in their work! I could be hypercritical and share something with you that Frankie and his staff could have done better but, this time, I have decided to just savor this wonderful memory. Yummmmmmmmmmmm! When your customers/guests allow their minds to wander and think back to their last experience with your establishment, will they remember having an incredibly positive experience as I do each time I go to Frankie's in my mind? Let me help you focus on your customers' experiences! Book before January 1, 2010 and save 25% off any of my outstanding training experiences. Let's do some incredible work together. http://www.pscompetitiveedge.com/ PS - While at Frankie's I read an article that was hanging on the wall. Frank had referenced the book "Setting The Table" by Danny Meyer. I picked it up in audio and would also highly recommend you consider doing the same. |
